I have had 2 compaq desktops and I now have a laptop. I love it and think it is awesome. I think it will do all that you need it to do. There are many features that help you to "undo" actions too which keeps you from having to call someone which is cool.

You can actually change the settings so that HP advisor does not load upon booting. I had done a Windows re-install so it didn’t really matter.
